The Coolock Learning Centre, an important component of Padua College’s Mornington Campus Masterplan, was officially opened in February 2024 and now fosters a vibrant and dynamic learning environment for 550 Year 7 & 8 students.
The striking two-storey build, designed by Baldasso Cortese represents modern educational excellence. The expansive 3,600spm centre incorporates 18 learning areas, two state-of-the-art science laboratories, collaborative learning hubs, and two dedicated STEM facilities. Further, this space houses a general reception, staff offices, and learning support offices. All facilities are contained within three distinct wings, which extend outwards from a central 150-seat, boat-shaped amphitheatre. This space fosters connection and engagement; allowing communal learning, performances and presentations to take place.
Within the first term of the new school year, the Coolock Learning Centre has become more than just an stunning building, it is a stimulating Community Hub for the students at the beginning of their secondary school experience.
“[The Centre] stands as a testament to quality and partnership, and will serve many future Paduans in years to come.” David Lawn, Director of Business - Padua College.
This project received a Special Commendation at the 2024 Master Builders Victoria Excellence in Construction Awards, in the category of Excellence in Construction of Commercial Buildings $15-20M.
